Since 2017, we have been working closely with CMAC (Cambodian Mine Action Centre), Cambodia\u2019s national mine action organization, to develop and field-test the DMR. We are pleased to announce that CMAC has officially decided to adopt the DMR for its operations.<\/p>\n

For the past eight years, IOS has positioned the official adoption of the DMR by CMAC as a key strategic objective. This achievement has been made possible through the invaluable cooperation and support of numerous partners and stakeholders. We are deeply grateful for their contributions, which have enabled us to reach this important milestone.<\/p>\n

Currently, three DMR units are in production and are scheduled for shipment within this year, with arrival in Cambodia expected early next year.<\/p>\n

This year, intermittent clashes occurred along the Cambodia\u2013Thailand border, and the issue of landmines once again drew international attention in the media. The border area has long been sensitive due to underlying territorial disputes, and extensive stretches of the frontier remain uncharted potential minefields where landmines may still be buried.<\/p>\n

Technically, demining in these border regions poses even greater challenges, as the orientation of buried mines is often irregular. Manual excavation\u2014traditionally conducted with a prodder and shovel\u2014carries extremely high risk under such conditions. CMAC has expressed its intention to deploy the DMR, which enables remote-controlled excavation of minefields, specifically in these hazardous areas.<\/p>\n

As we enter the eighth year since development began, the DMR\u2019s official adoption marks a significant milestone.
